We try our best to make sure the patterns are error
proof, but..... Corrections by pattern: Making Waves Briefcase and Carpet Bag General Corrections: __________________________________ I like the look of applied I-cord and have included directions for it in several of my patterns. However, it was just pointed out to me that I goofed. After the k2, SSK, you should pass the 3 sts back to the left needle (not the right). But apparently many of you already knew that... My apologies.
DROPPED STITCH PATTERN: On page 2: Rows 3, 5 and 7 should read just rows 5 and 7.
Body Also on Round 30 end with a cable, the same as Round 6. Shoulder decreases on the back. Then bind off (0, 8, 9, 9, 0) sts twice. Design note should read "The model shown is a medium, or a K8, P8 repeat." (It now says L8) Sleeves should read "Work the increases into the ribbing pattern as you proceed." Large sleeves: Cast on 108 sts, not 112. Row 3 of the Back should end with knit (8, 9, 10,
11) sts., but you probably realized that already. Sorry! The O on the chart indicates a yarnover. Front Shoulders: Bind off (7, 7, 7, 8, 8) stitches at the beginning of the next 4 rows, then (5, 7, 8, 7, 8) sts at the beginning of the next two rows. ____________________________ The chest measurement for the shell lists 21, 21.5, 22 and 23" which is actually the length. The chest should be: 34, 36, 40, 44" for S, M, L, XL.
Right Front : Establish Pattern: K3, p2, k4, p2, k6, [p2, k4] (4, 5, 6, 6) times, [p2, k2] (4, 4, 4, 6) times, p2, k3. The Left Front is : K3, p2, [k2, p2] (4, 4, 4, 6) times, [k4, p2] (4, 5, 6, 6) times, k6, p2, k4, p2, k3. Also, sew shoulder seams before picking up for the neckband. ______________________________________ Corrections for the large size only: On the Making Waves Briefcase handle, the 4 st I-cord should read *k4, pass all 4 sts back to the left needle* The increases are only on the first round for each bag to a total of 160 sts on the briefcase and 212 sts on the carpetbag. Work all following rounds in knit except for the 2 purl stitches on each long side. ______________________________________ Top of page 2: Work (4, 10, 10, 8) sts in double seed stitch as established. Change numbers accordingly on the front. Size large Front: "Change to larger needles and work the first 12 stitches in pattern, then start Row 1 of chart." Page 3: "Pea" Bobbles: [k1, p1] twice into st, turn, p4, turn, slip 3, k1, pass second, third and fourth sts over first stitch. Back row 1: End with [k1, p1] (2, 4, 4, 7) times, k1. Middle of the first paragraph, page 2: Continue to work the chart keeping the first few sts in double seed stitch and the last sts in ribbing. The Ribbed Cable Key should read: Cable Row: Slip 7 sts to cable needle in front, [k1, p1] 3 times, then [k1, p1] 3 times, k1 from cable needle." True to it's name - this pattern omitted some needles you might need. You'll need US8/5.0mm for the body. The US6 / 4.0 mm needles are used for the edges. ______________________________________ Gauge is 4.7 sts/inch and 6.5 rows/inch in 4-row pattern with 3 strands of yarn held together on US8 / 5.0 mm) needles. ____________________________ SLEEVES: (Make two) Note: Each CC Wrap row should be followed with a Drop row as follows: Purl back, working Drop 5 over each Wrap 5. CC: Cast on (29, 31, 33, 35) sts and K 2 rows. Saturday Morning
Jacket ______________________________________ Gauge: 5 sts and 6.5 rows per inch in stockinette on US6 (4mm) needles On back: Under Step D (on both the front and back): ______________________________________ The "0" symbol on the chart indicates yarn over. If you are confused with the wording, find an error, or need clarification please contact me by e-mail or phone 608.233.3967. Your input is invaluable! ______________________________________ Sleeves: Change to larger needles on the set up row. Plus, on the Sleeves Turning Ridge: Knit only DECREASING TWO STS EVENLY across the row. One of the cable charts (the double cable) was partially
cut off on some of the early versions of the pattern. The complete chart
is shown below: A couple more tweaks to the pattern: Right Front Shoulders: Bind off (8, 10, 11) sts at the beginning of the next 3 wrong side rows dropping the middle knit st of each K3 group instead of binding it off. At the same time, purl 2 together in the middle of each cable as you bind off to keep the edge from flaring. Left Front Shoulders: Bind off (8, 10, 11) sts at the beginning of the next 3 right side rows dropping the middle purl st of each P3 group instead of binding it off. At the same time, knit 2 together in the middle of each cable as you bind off to keep the edge from flaring. Continue working the remaining (15, 15, 16) sts in pattern for (10.5, 11.5, 12.5) inches. ______________________________________ Row 2 of the Left Front: The row should end:...slip marker, (K1, P1) 3 times, P1. ______________________________________ Chart C row 14: Should be the same as Row 12 On the Left Front armhole decreases: Decrease 1 st at the same edge every row.... not at the beginning of every row.
